Service Technician

The Service Technician is responsible for high quality and effective repair of equipment. Provides excellent customer service, maintains professionalism, and ensures appropriate and detailed records for time, parts, supplies, purchases and repairs.

Principal Responsibilities

Reconditioning and repairing equipment and components.

Maintaining complete and detailed working records for time, parts, supplies, and outside
purchases for repairs.

Maintaining and caring for shop tools, all Company equipment, and Company vehicles.

Performing diagnostic inspections as directed.

Interacting with customers and co-workers daily and occasional interaction with subcontractors of customers.

Accountability for following all DOT, OSHA, and established Company policy, rules,
regulations, and guidelines.

Successfully meeting Company guidelines, including but not limited to repairs completed, time required to complete repairs, feedback from customers, ability to take guidance and direction from Manager professionally, and execute upon such feedback.

Representing Vermeer Colorado at factory, industry and company events, including
meetings and training.

Following all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhering to all policies and procedures as specified.

Performing all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient
manner.

General Qualifications

High School diploma, GED or vocational training/certification.

1 – 3 years’ experience in the same or similar industry.

Vermeer Equipment knowledge or previous industry experience a plus, with on-the-job and factory-based training provided.

Owns and maintains personal tool inventory.

Mechanical/technical aptitude, safe work habits, and a good working knowledge of
equipment operations and mechanical functions.

Computer skills including all Microsoft Office applications a plus.

Strong current electronic diagnosing capabilities and problem-solving skills.

Able to work with minimal supervision.

Customer service oriented, reliable, ethical, and able to adapt to the people and
environment around them (e.g., customers, suppliers, co-workers and manufacturer’s
employees, etc.).

Experience with hydraulic systems, electrical, electronics, pneumatics, diagnosing and calibration a plus.

Communicates professionally, respectfully and honestly.

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.

Accept exposure to hot and cold temperatures, moving mechanical parts and equipment, and moderate to high noise levels in working environment.

Background check required.

Personal appearance must be neat and clean.

Company Driver Policy; Vermeer Colorado will monitor all motor vehicle records at least annually for all employees for whom driving a motor vehicle is an essential job function or when employees must obtain and drive rental vehicles while conducting company business.
